Atheists.

Atheism is, in the broadest sense, the absence of belief in the existence of deities. Less broadly, atheism is the rejection of belief that any deities exist. In an even narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.

A person who lacks belief in a god or gods. People who use this definition categorize atheists as either negative (or implicit or weak) atheists or positive (or explicit or strong) atheists. Negative atheists, while they don’t believe in a god, do not positively assert that no gods exist. Positive atheists, however, do.

2.) A person who believes that no god or gods exist

Agnostics.

“It simply means that a man shall not say he knows or believes that which he has no scientific grounds for professing to know or believe.”Agnosticism is of the essence of science, whether ancient or modern. It simply means that a man shall not say he knows or believes that which he has no scientific grounds for professing to know or believe. Consequently, agnosticism puts aside not only the greater part of popular theology, but also the greater part of anti-theology.

— Thomas Henry Huxley
or …Someone who finds his life meaningful enough to pursue; without admitting or dismissing a God, and tolerant enough to respect either ways as a possible answer.
Believer: The great unicorn is omnipotent
Atheist: There is no a great unicorn.
Agnostic: naah, it doesn’t matter.
Freethinker : Arr your all right or maybe  all wrong

Freethinkers.

Freethought (or “free thought”) is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma. According to the Oxford English Dictionary , a freethinker is ‘a person who forms their own ideas and opinions rather than accepting those of other people, especially in religious teaching.’ In some contemporary thought in particular, freethought is strongly tied with rejection of traditional social or religious belief systems. The cognitive application of freethought is known as “freethinking”, and practitioners of freethought are known as “freethinkers”. Modern freethinkers consider freethought as a natural freedom of all negative and illusive thoughts acquired from the society.

Whats going on in a meeting?

Thoughts on 12 steps

Ending the forcing of a higher power submission by the Stockholm Syndrome or Trauma Bonding

Podcasts, Story's, History

AA has had a revolution  in secular meetings all over the world England, France, USA and Australia.
From its very beginning an Atheists helped create AA  even the idea of “higher power” is thanks to Jim Burwell. Yes a militant agnostic came up with the concept of ” a Higher Power” one can imagine the smirk on his face. His story…

Narcotics Anonymous is an adaption of AA and the literature shows an different era of writing style  than the Christian revivalists of the Oxford group AA co-founders of the 1930’s.
Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship based on principles Honesty, Openness and Willingness, not a “need to believe” doctrinal cult.

A 2012 poll by Win-Gallup International found that 48% of Australians claimed no religion; 37% were religious; 10% declared themselves “convinced atheists”. Australia placed in the bottom 14 for religiosity and in the top 11 for atheism!
60% of Australians have no  belief or about 2 out of 3 people identify with us.

Our position is not of non belief or non faith.
But just lack of evidence of Gods against proof that your just another Primate.

Generally we do not except the existence of a made up higher power of  your understanding exists or is  responsible for recovery.
We understand that mantras/prayers and mediation calm and distract the obsessive mind but don’t except this as divine intervention.

For us that we do not believe in invisible spirits guiding our lives nor do we have too under the principles of narcotics anonymous. We are finding it very annoying that fundamentalists who have developed these positions from AA meetings are now with certain daily reflections bringing these dogmatic positions “Get God or Get the Gap”.
“Must find God “or “have a higher power” to recover into meetings.

We don’t care or want to change or question others beliefs we just want to recover without  conceited comments, lectures or interference that our program is wrong  from whom have been influenced  by NA  god squad or their own revelation.

Our Ozzie Jim’s thoughts on God…

As Our Literature States:

A Spiritual Journey

We each find a way to surrender, but that does not mean we all come to believe in God. Many of our members have been clean for years as atheists. For some of us, coming to believe that NA can accommodate our atheism has itself been a leap of faith. We are welcome no matter what we believe. NA has no opinion on how our members define or practice spirituality. Our individual challenge is to find a definition of spirituality that makes sense to us. By listening carefully and with an open mind to a range of members’ opinions and experiences, we form our own understanding that we can use in our own recovery.

Since we started this website  the secular NA meetings have increased from 2 around 29 .
We all thank the many Zoom meetings which read a section from a spiritual life…  which  for us apologizes  to us non-believers, free thinkers and agnostics for the years of ostracism and humiliation from the self-righteous god drugged members
… whom pushed us to create of own meetings.
We know NA has Faith healing component masked in the delusion of spirituality… but sorry… we just don’t believe in made up invisible spooks and ectoplasm.
What is the definition of Secularism?     Created in the Age of Enlightenment (also known as the Age of Reason )
Philosophy a doctrine that rejects religion, esp in ethics. the attitude that religious or spiritual matters should have no place in civil affairs.
The state of being secular not having any connection with Gods, higher powers, extoplasm or religions:
What is the definition of a Freethinker?  Socrates is our founder of Philosophical skepticism and it long tradition . Free-think-er n. Is person who thinks freely or independently  one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority especially : one who rejects or is skeptical of religious dogma but may not be an Atheist or Agnostic.
The person who is free in any respect is free from something; what is the free thinker free from? To be worthy of the name, he must be free of two things: the force of tradition, and the tyranny of his own passions. No one is completely free from either, but in the measure of a man’s emancipation he deserves to be called a free thinker.— Bertrand Russell
No one can be a freethinker who demands conformity to a big book, basic text, Bible, creed, fellowship or messiah. To the freethinker, revelation and faith are invalid, and orthodoxy is no guarantee of truth.
What is NA Agnostica?  Recovering free-thinking addicts that are sceptical and want free Inquiry and information in all areas of recovery under rule 62.

Members’ beliefs range from nature to organized religion, from no belief that a power exists...
